I am currently working on non-autonomous cell signaling between endosperm and seed coat. Upon fertilization, the sexual endosperm signals to the surrounding integuments to remove Polycomb function and consequently drive the development of the seed coat. These signaling pathways are however yet to be understood. My main objective is to identify and characterize these signaling events using forwards and reverse genetics, as well as molecular biology and microscopy tools.
