Research interests

Hybridization of closely related plants or species differing in ploidy levels leads to the formation of a barrier, termed ‘triploid block’ that results in inviable seeds. Imprinted genes play an important role in the triploid block formation. My project is aimed at understanding the functional role of an imprinted gene in establishing the triploid block.
